The Disability Discrimination Act gives new rights to the disabled and aims to end the discrimination many disabled people face. Part III of the DDA gives disabled people important rights of access to everyday services that others take for granted. The final stages of part III came into force on 1st October 2004. New duties apply to service providers and demand that they must take reasonable and positive steps to ensure their services are accessible to disabled people. For many situations provision of a low cost, portable ramp will suffice. We have a selection of ramps that can be used for this purpose. More information on the DDA can be found on the government website at http://www.disability.gov.uk/dda |
